01.21.08 - How To Make A Ringtone

How To Post On This Site To post on this site you just need to register, and then post. Anyone can submit a ringtone, but they have to be approved. In order to attach a ringtone you need to put it in Podpress (the Wordpress plugin). To do this, follow the following steps:

  1.  Upload your ringtone .m4r file somewhere. I recommend googleing file sharing or hosting to find a site to upload the file to. If your ringtone is accepted it will be moved to our server, so you can host it on your own if you want (we won’t hotlink. promise!)
  2. In the post you are writing, there is a podcasting section. Click Add Media file, and fill out the right forms.

How To Make A Ringtone Making a ringtone is simple! All you need is the latest version of Apple’s Garageband.Steps:

  1.  Open Garageband and create a new song
  2. Either create music, or drag a drm free song onto the stage
  3. Since ringtones can only be a maximum of 40 seconds, you may want to edit your song to play the important parts
  4. Once ready click share than send ringtone to iTunes (you will probably have to select which portion of song you wish to use)

    guys open itunes , then convert the mp3 song to . acc format
    after that open the acc format song in the located file where it has been converted , change its format name from acc to .m4r and then play it in tunes and copy it into the ringtones place and then sync ur iphone and its done :)

    I’m having the same problem converting it from m4a to m4r.
    I created an aac file and right clicked on the song to “show in windows explorer” and it located it but I have no idea how to change the extension. There are instructions online on how to change it, but they are only applicable to MACs.

    For those of you on PC’s. I’ve figured it out.

    GO to
    My Computer -> tools-> folder options -> view-> and scroll down and UNCHECK “hide extensions for known file types”

    This will enable you to see th file name in its fullest by including what file type it is.

    The reason this is hidden in the first place is in case you accidently rename the file, you won’t screw up the file extention to something else, causing you to be unable to open it.
